THE PRIVACY POLICY
INFORMATION FROM ART. 13 OF LEGISLATIVE DECREE N° 196/03
The Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte, which is the Holder of the Processing,
provides this information for users who consult and or/interact with this site
regarding information on the personal data of identified or unidentified parties,
according to article 13 of Legislative Decree N°.196/2003 regarding the protection
of personal data, and explains how this site is managed.
WHERE THE DATA ARE PROCESSED
The processing linked to the web services of this site is carried out in the
company’s headquarters by the technical staff of the processing office, or alternatively,
by technicians in charge of maintenance operations.
The processing can also be carried out by other companies which collect data
relative to access to and navigation on the site so as to allow the functioning
of the series and of the sections which require user identification, and use the
information collected for the technical administration of the site and for eventual
statistical analyses regarding the use of the site.
The personal data provided by the users who request material (brochures, replies
to questions, requests for contacts) are used only to carry out the service or
performance requested and are shared with third parties only if this is necessary
(for example transport companies in the case of material to be dispatched).
THE TYPE OF DATA TREATED
The navigation data, the information systems and the software procedures used
for the functioning of this web site acquire, in the course of their normal activity,
some personal data the transmission of which is implicit in the use of Internet
protocol language.
This information is not collected to be associated with identified parties but
could, by its very nature, through processing and association with data held by
third parties, allow the identification of the users.
The data in this category include IP addresses or dominion names of the computers
of users who connect to the site, addresses in URI (Uniform Resource Identifier)
notation of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used
to make the request to the server, the size of the reply file, the code number
indicating the state of the reply given by the server(successful result, error
etc) and other parameters relative to the operative system and the user’s data
transmission environment. These data are used only to obtain anonymous statistical
information regarding the use of the site and to control its correct functioning
and are cancelled immediately after processing. The data could be used to ascertain
responsibility in the case of hypothetical data transmission offences that damage
the site: with the exception of these contingencies data on web contacts are currently
held for no longer than seven days.
DATA PROVIDED VOLUNTARILY BY THE USER
The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of e-mail to the addresses indicated
on this site mean that the address of the sender is successively acquired as are
eventual other personal data recorded in the e-mail. Specific synthetic information
will be progressively carried over or visualised on the pages of the site prepared
for particular services and/or processing purposes and, where necessary, requests
for consensus are also present.
COOKIES
None of the user’s personal data are acquired by the site for this use. Cookies
are not used to transmit information of a personal nature, and no type of pre-existing
c.d. cookies, which is to say systems that trace users, are used. The use of session
c.d. cookies (which are not memorized constantly in the user’s computer and disappear
when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the transmission of the session
identifications (these are numbers casually generated by the server) which are
necessary to allow a safe and efficient navigation of the site. The session c.d.
cookies used in this site avoid recourse to other data transmission techniques
which are potentially prejudicial to the privacy of the user’s navigation, and
do not allow the acquisition of personal data identifying the user.
THE OPTION TO CONFER THE DATA
Apart from what is specified regarding the navigation data, the user is free
to provide the personal data submitted in the request forms or which are indicated
when making contact with the Office to request material or for other matters.
Failure to confer these data can make it impossible to obtain the materials or
the information requested.
HOW THE DATA IS PROCESSED
The personal data are treated using paper, data transmission and automated means
for the time strictly necessary to achieve the goals for which they were gathered.
Specific security measures are observed in order to avoid the loss of the data,
the illicit or incorrect use of the same, and unauthorized access.
SECURITY MEASURES USED ON THE SITE
Specific security measures have been adopted to manage the site. These are aimed
at guaranteeing the user safe access and protecting the information contained
in the site from the risk of loss or even accidental destruction. The antivirus
software used to manage the site is updated periodically so as to avoid the loss
of the data through data transmission viruses. We would like to point out that
while guaranteeing the adoption of appropriate antivirus systems, as obliged by
law, the user is advised to install a preventive system and scan against viruses
on his computer. To access the reserved parts of the site companies are provided,
on request, with an identity code and a password; these passwords are generated
in such a way that they contain no reference that can be associated with the user,
so as to avoid possible misuse. The user should take steps to keep his password
secret.

What follows is an extract from article 7 of Legislative Decree N°. 196/2003
to remind you that can exercise the following rights:

obtain the confirmation of the existence of your personal data, even if these
are still not registered, and the sharing in intelligible form of these same data
and their origin, as well as the aims and the methods of the processing and the
system used when the data are processed electronically;

have the data which does not have to be stored for the reasons for which they
were collected and processed, transformed into an anonymous form or blocked;

obtain the updating, amendment and integration of your data;

oppose, in part or totally, for legitimate reasons, to the processing of your
personal data, even if they are still pertinent to the aim for which they were
collected.
